Rifle Places Second at Palmyra Invitational

PALMYRA, PA. - The NC State rifle team began spring play this Saturday, Jan. 14, at the 2006 Palmyra Invitational in Palmyra, Pa. Squaring off against Kentucky, the Pack finished second overall with a total score of 4,452. Kentucky's scores were not avialable at press time. Junior Matthew Gifford led the team in smallbore, while sophomore Thomas Knight posted the team's best air rifle score.
NC State will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 21, at the SEARC #4 event in Spartanburg, S.C. The following day, Sunday, Jan. 22, the Pack will compete against VMI and the Citadel in Raleigh, N.C.
