RALEIGH, N.C. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has released the latest national rankings for singles play and senior Wolfpack women's tennis netter Barbara Orlay stands at No. 90 on the list. Orlay, a member of the 2004 All-ACC team, has spent much of her career at NC State listed in the national rankings. This past fall, Orlay posted a 9-4 record in solo bouts.
A native of Budapest, Hungary, Orlay served as the No. 1 spot staple in the Wolfpack rotation all season long last spring, finishing second on the team in spring singles wins with 12. In addition, Orlay collected 10 doubles wins with two different partners, including two in conference play with sophomore teammate Julia Roach.
The NC State women's tennis will return to the courts this Sunday, Jan. 15, in a spring season-opening showdown against UNC Greensboro. The match, slated to begin at 2 p.m., will be held at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center on the NC State campus. This year the Wolfpack returns seven letterwinners from last season's squad, while bringing three new players into the fold.
