Rifle Sets 2005-06 Schedule

RALEIGH, N.C. - On Thursday, August 18, head coach Keith Miller announced the 2005-06 schedule for the Wolfpack rifle team. The slate features an assortment of challenging matches and invitationals, in addition to four regular season South Eastern Air Rifle Conference (SEARC) showdowns. NC State will also compete in a second conference, the Great America Rifle Conference (GARC), beginning this year. Last season the Pack fnished at No. 19 nationally, going 42-4 in NCAA action and 24-2 in the SEARC for second in the conference.
The Pack will jump-start the season on Sunday, Sept. 25, at the Army Marksmanship Unit Invitational in Ft. Benning, Ga. Following two more road commitments, the Wolfpack will return to Raleigh to host the annual Wolfpack Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 22.
In addition to the Wolfpack Invitational, the red and white will play host to three more meets; SEARC #3 on Saturday, Nov. 5, Virginia Military Institute and the Citadel on Sunday, Jan. 22 and the annual Triangle Shoot Out on Saturday, Feb. 18. With the regular season coming to a close at the Triangle Shoot Out, the Wolfpack will look to win its second SEARC title at the conference championships on Saturday, Feb. 25, in Charleston, S.C. The NCAA Championships will be held in Colorado Springs, Colo., Friday, Mar. 10 through Saturday, Mar. 11.
