RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State lefthander Branden Knapp has been voted the Atlantic Coast Conference's Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 10. Knapp, a product of Amarillo, Texas, recorded a complete-game shutout with a 6-0 victory over Virginia at Davenport Field on Saturday. The lefthander threw 115 pitches, giving up five hits, walking two and striking out four. He retired 13 of the first 14 Cavalier batters he faced, and 18 of the first 20. Knapp, a redshirt junior and a transfer from Midland (Texas) Junior College, allowed just two Virginia baserunners to advance to scoring position, neither of whom advanced past second base. Knapp lifted his record to 2-1 and lowered his ERA to 3.25.
