
NC State Women's Golf In Third Place At LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. - The NC State women's golf team is in third place after the opening round of the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic Friday at the par 72, 6,276-yard University Club. The Wolfpack shot 15 strokes over par and was led by Molly Birmingham, who is tied for 11th at two-over.
Lorraine Ballerano and Ashlee Dean are both one stroke behind Birmingham and tied for third. Stephanie Derrey is seven-over and Nancy Mountcastle is 11-over after one round.
The host team, LSU leads the 12-team field at eight-over and Alison Walshe from Tulane is in first place with a three-under first round score. The tournament continues Saturday with a second round of 18 holes and concludes Sunday. Complete results, as well as live scoring are available at www.golfstat.com.
