NC State's Brian Clark, Jed Paulsen, John McCargo and Lamont Reid have been named to the All-ACC Academic Football Team, announced on Tuesday by league commissioner John Swofford. To be eligible, a player must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the fall semester or have maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career. All four players selected from NC State were also starters on last fall's Wolfpack squad.
Clark, a junior wide receiver, recorded a 3.42 grade point average in his Parks, Recreation & Tourism major. On the field, Clark made 18 catches for 211 yards and three touchdowns.
Senior center Jed Paulsen, whose final season was cut short by an ankle injury, maintained a steady pace in the classroom, and posted a 3.13 GPA in Technology Education.
Like Clark, McCargo is a Parks, Recreation & Tourism major who had a 3.07 GPA. The redshirt sophomore also established himself as one of the ACC's best defensive tackles on a unit that ranked No. 1 in the nation.
Cornerback Lamont Reid finished up a fine career on and off the field, recording a 3.17 grade point average in Parks, Recreation & Tourism.
