RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State baseball team returns home for a Tuesday afternoon matchup with UNC Greensboro at Doak Field. First pitch is 4:00 p.m. and the Wolfpack looks to improve its home record to 9-0. The Spartans come to town with a 5-2 record and are coming off a 1-2 weekend in Wilmington, N.C. Live stats will be available online at www.GoPack.com.
Splitting two games this past weekend at the Homewood Suites Shootout in Charleston, S.C., NC State beat The Citadel 10-3 and then had a six-game winning streak ended with a 13-1 loss to East Carolina. Sunday's game with West Virginia was rained out. The Wolfpack, 9-2 on the season, will start freshman right hand pitcher Gib Hobson against the Spartans, who are hitting .263 as a team.
NC State holds a 16-3 all-time record against UNCG, winning all eight previous meetings under Coach Elliott Avent, including a 9-4 win last year in Greensboro.
