The NC State men's basketball team will begin preseason play with its first exhibition game on Friday night. The Pack will host the University of Guelph at the RBC Center at 7:30 p.m.
The game will be the first of two home exhibition outings before the start of the regular season for NC State. The Wolfpack is coming off last season's trip to the Sweet 16, and returns seven regulars from last year's lineup.
NC State will be facing the University of Guelph Gryphons from Ontario, Canada. The Gryphons competed in the Laval Tournament last weekend, posting a 2-1 record and losing to host Laval in the championship game. Guards JS Esposito and Nick Pankerichan were each named to the All-Tournament squad.
After facing Mt. Olive in a second exhibition game on November 11, NC State will begin its regular season with the three-day Hispanic College Fund Classic November 18-20 at the RBC Center. NC State will face Stetson, The Citadel and Delaware that weekend.
There are still a limited number of season tickets available for the 2005-06 campaign. Tickets can be purchased by calling the ticket office (919-865-1510) or clicking on the link on www.GoPack.com.
The Wolfpack Radio Network will provide play-by-play coverage of Friday's exhibition game.
