NC State Wrestling To Take On UNC Greensboro

RALEIGH, N.C. - After a brutal gauntlet of dual matches and preseason tournaments that included bouts with three top 10 teams, the NC State wrestling team returns to action Wednesday night with a dual match at UNC Greensboro. The match begins at 7 p.m.
Although unranked nationally, the Spartans are 6-1 on the season and will present a challenge for the Wolfpack. NC State is 3-4 after back-to-back losses to No. 2 Illinois and No, 6 Nebraska the past two weekends. UNCG features a pair of ranked wrestlers, 125-pounder Joe Kemmerer (19-3) and 197-pounder Daren Burns (16-4), both ranked No. 19 in the latest intermat.com poll.
NC State is led by redshirt-sophomore 125-pounder Garrett Cummings (12-3), senior 149-pounder Alex Hernandez (6-5), redshirt-junior 174-pounder Kevin Gabrielson (10-6) and sophomore heavyweight Jainor Palma (11-8).
