Why did you decide to come to NC State? It has a good engineering program and a good division I rifle program. What type of engineering are you looking into? I want to do mechanical and I've always liked machines. After I get a few internships under my belt I think I will have a more specific idea of what I want to do. When did you get into rifle? During my freshman year in high school. I had shot before, and I was really interested in it. I joined the high school rifle team and have just grown from that. You just got back from a national competition. What was that experience like? Yes, I competed at the NRA CMP National Matches. It was a little wet. Wet? At one point in time it was raining straight in our faces, and for the first few days we were shooting without a cover on the ground. The tarp that they put out for us got blown away in the storm, so we were shooting prone and covered in water. I also got sunburn on my head because of it. Did the conditions make it more difficult to compete? It was different. You have to worry about getting sunburn. You had to wear a hat to cover over the sight to keep the glare out. What do you expect in your first year on the NC State rifle team? I'm not sure, I just want to go shoot. What are some other things you are interested in? I've always liked model rocketry and enjoy playing computer games. What was your initial impression of NC State and head coach Keith Miller? I was really impressed with Coach Miller, and that made me decision easier. I was looking at the buildings and was wondering if this was a fit for me. All of the bricks made it look old, but it has really grown on me.
