Former punter Austin Herbert, a two-time Academic All-ACC performer for the Wolfpack, was named the Outstanding Entrepreneurship Student by the NC State College of Management for 2003-04. Herbert finished his playing career as the Pack's career leader in punts (226) and punting yards (8,992). "This is an extremely prestigious award in Entrepreneurship Education," said Gary Palin, executive director of the College of Management's Entrepreneurship Education Initiative. "I admire Austin's ability to balance academic excellence with his athletic success." Herbert graduated in May after starting at punter for four years at NC State. He ranks eighth in ACC history in career punts. The Entrepreneurship Education Initiative is a unique model to educate undergraduate students in the area of entrepreneurship. Cornerstones of the program include a high level of integration of the business community, experiential learning and personal growth and development.
