Rifle Places Five on ACC Academic Honor Roll

Before last season, Coach Keith Miller had a feeling that his squad was special. His suspicions proved true when the Wolfpack rifle squad captured its first South Eastern Air Rile Conference (SEARC) title since joining the league in 1997. The accomplishments, however, did not end there, as five members of the championship team found themselves on the ACC Academic Honor Roll upon its release last week.
Senior Ryan Dorety and juniors Christine Kimball and Teri Steinkopff both made the list for the second time in their careers, while senior Tammy Montgomery picked up the honor for the first time. Senior Laura Ferrell, recently accepted into Veterinary School at NC State, made the list for the third consecutive year.
Coach Miller and the rifle squad will try and defend their conference title as they head back into competition September 19 at the AMU Invitational at Ft. Benning, Georgia. This season the Wolfpack will compete in three matches in Raleigh; November 13 - SEARC #3 & ACC Invitational, January 29 - VMI & The Citadel, February 19 - Triangle Shoot Out. All matches will take place at the Wake County Range.
