Maddox Named to Thorpe Watch List

Wolfpack senior roverback Andre Maddox is one of 29 players who have been named to the preseason "Watch List" for the 2004 Jim Thorpe Award. The Thorpe Award is presented annually to the nation's top collegiate defensive back.
A first-team All-ACC selection in 2003, Maddox ranked fifth in the ACC, 22nd in the nation and led the team in tackles with 145 last season. The Miami, Fla. native boasts 284 stops for his career.
The list will be narrowed down to 10 semi-finalists in early November and the winner will be announced on December 9.
