RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State sophomore Cullen Jones recently swam a 22.31 short course meters 50 freestyle at the NCAA Championships last weekend. Jones impressive display at the NCAA Championship came after a dominant performance at the ACC Championship.
Jones won two ACC titles, one in the 50 free and one in the 100 free, and turned in the top time in each event. He was an automatic qualifier in both events, a tough feat in collegiate swimming.
His time at the NCAA Championships ranked 79th in the world, and was among the top-10 in terms of youngest swimmers to post a time on the top-100. He was also tied for the fifth fastest time among swimmers born in 1984 or younger in the USA.
