NC State JV Wins Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate

MARSHVILLE, N.C. - The NC State women's golf JV team won the J. Ralph Hargett Invitational Wednesday at the par 72, 5,818-yard Eagle Chase Golf Club. The Wolfpack finished 54 strokes ahead of second place Wingate. NC State JV golfers made up the top five finishers of the tournament, including Lorraine Ballerano, who was the individual medalist.
Ballerano finished 13-over-par, with a 78 the first day and a 79 the second, winning by two strokes. Leslie Stubblefield shaved 11 strokes off her first round total of 85, to finish as the runner-up. Sarah Davis and Colby Cobb tied for third place with 16-over par totals, while Nancy Mountcastle and Molly Birmingham tied for fifth place at 18-over.

The scores do not count for the Wolfpack golfers, but serve as a shot of confidence going into the next varsity event on the schedule, the Bryan National Collegiate, April 2-4 at the Bryan National Golf Club in Browns Summit, N.C.
