RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State wrestling team will cradle a make-up match in between a pair of heavyweight road trips when the Pack hosts Old Dominion at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4 at Reynolds Coliseum.
The match, originally scheduled for January 27, was postponed by the ice storm that hit Raleigh on January 25-26.
The Wolfpack, which had a four-match winning streak snapped on January 31 at eighth-ranked Oklahoma, will bring a 6-3 record into the bout with the Monarchs, who are 3-8 following losses to Virginia, Virginia Tech and Kent State, all on January 31 at Charlottesville, Va.
The Wolfpack will be without its two top performers. Senior 157-pounder Scott Garren (11-2) is out with a balky knee, while Kawa (11-3) is out after a mild head injury suffered at Oklahoma. Sophomore Eric Heath (2-5) will start at 157, and redshirt-freshman Javon Powell will make his collegiate debut at 165.
NC State will weigh in redshirt-freshmen Jeremy Hartrum (8-4) and Garrett Cummings (7-5) at 125, and will weight in redshirt-freshman Robert Schell (1-2) along with junior Dan Pacitti (9-8) at 133. The rest of the Wolfpack lineup will be the same, with junior Alex Hernandez (12-8) at 141, senior Jake Giamoni (11-5) at 149, freshman Rick Brownlee (1-6) at 174, sophomore Daniel Humphries (11-9) at 184, freshman Zach Garren (10-9) at 197, and freshman Jainor Palma (7-11) at heavyweight.
NC State will travel to Bethlehem, Pa., this weekend to take on seventh-ranked Lehigh on Saturday, February 10.
