Wolfpack Holds Steady Heading Into Final Day of ACC Tournament

The NC State men put up an impressive show in the ACC Championship, held in Charlottesville, Va. and running through Saturday. NC State placed two swimmers in the top ten in two different events, and finished fourth in the 400 yard Medley Relay. Cullen Jones had another successful day, 24 hours after winning the ACC Championship in the 50 yard freestyle with a record performance.
Jones finished eighth in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 48.84, while teammate Kevin Devine joined him in the top-10 with a time of 49.22.
Rob Yeager (7th, 56.42) and Brian Pursley (9th, 56.63) finished in the top-10 in the 100-yard breaststroke to push State into a solid sixth place showing with 221.50 points.
In the 100 yard backstroke, Andy Bauman finished an impressive 11th, posting a finals time of 50.33.
NC State posted a fourth place finish in the 400 yard individual medley, as Bauman, Yeager, Devine, and Jones finished with a time of 3:19.67, earning 30 points for the team.
