Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Fall 2003 semester 236 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 118 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor swimmer Kendall Smith and "Mr. Wuf," Matthew Cumbee.
Kendall Smith is a key performer for the NC State Women's Swimming Team. She made the short trip to campus from her home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The sophomore Textile and Apparel Management major has an impressive 3.85 Total Grade Point Average. Kendall has also been on the NC State Dean's List every semester since coming to campus and has also been selected to the ACC Honor Roll.
Matthew Cumbee has stood on the sidelines cheering on NC State athletes as Mr. Wuf over the past four years. In the classroom, the senior from Rocky Mount, North Carolina draws cheers with his 3.65 Total Grade Point Average. Matthew has been named to the NC State Dean's List every semester he's been on campus. He's also been named to the ACC Honor Roll.
Congratulations to both Kendall and Matthew and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
