NC State head basketball coach Herb Sendek announced on Wednesday that redshirt sophomore Adam Simons will transfer at the end of the fall semester. Simons, a 6-10 center from Burlington, N.C., has seen very limited playing time in his career with the Wolfpack. Last year, he appeared briefly in six games, and had a three-minute stint on the court in last week's season-opener against New Orleans.
As a center, Simons was playing a position that has become quite crowded this year. While veterans Jordan Collins and Ilian Evtimov will certainly garner plenty of minutes at the 5-spot, the Pack also has high-hopes for freshman big man Cedric Simmons, who saw significant playing time in all three games of last week's BCA Invitational.
NC State, unbeaten at 3-0 and ranked 16th in this week's ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, will entertain Campbell at the RBC Center this Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
