It was hard to miss Mario Williams in last Thursday night's ACC football game against Florida State. In one of his most dominating performances to date, NC State's sophomore defensive end almost single-handedly derailed the Seminoles' offense. Although the Wolfpack fell to FSU 17-10, Williams has been named a co-defensive lineman of the week in the ACC, sharing the honor with Florida State's Chauncey Davis.
Often looking like a one-man wrecking crew, Williams tortured FSU with 10 tackles, including five for losses and three quarterback sacks. He spearheaded a defensive unit that tallied a total of 23 tackles for loss.
NC State is again ranked No. 1 in the nation in total defense this week.
