RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State, the State Highway Patrol and the NCDOT have announced suggested traffic routes for the Wolfpack football game against Miami on Saturday, October 23. Although the game time has not yet been finalized, it will begin at either 7:00 PM or 7:45 PM. Due to the late evening kick-off, and in addition to the annual North Carolina State Fair, travel delays are expected for all fans and patrons. Fans are asked to help limit travel problems by arriving at the stadium much earlier than normal.
To encourage Wolfpack fans to arrive early, the Walk of Champions is scheduled to begin 2 1/2 hours prior to game time. In addition, tip-off for the annual Red / White basketball scrimmage will begin 2 hours and 15 minutes prior to the football game. All fans are encouraged to come out early and enjoy the State Fair before heading back for these pre-game events.
Listed below are the recommended traffic routes compiled in coordination by the State Highway Patrol and the NCDOT.
Fans with Parking Passes
The recommended travel route for all football game traffic is Wade Avenue to Edwards Mill Road. It is highly recommended that Hillsborough Street, Trinity Road, and adjacent streets be avoided. Entrances to stadium and arena parking will be accessed either off Edwards Mill Road or Wade Avenue. Fans with parking passes in reserved lots east of Carter-Finley Stadium on Trinity Road (across from the Fairgrounds) are encouraged to utilize Wade Avenue to Blue Ridge Road.
Fans without Parking Passes
All fans attending the game without a reserved parking pass are asked to park at one of the park-and-ride lots operated for the State Fair and the football game. These shuttles will operate from 8:00 AM until 12:00 midnight. A list of locations is below:
• Moore Square Parking Deck in Downtown Raleigh - Also picks up from CAT Bus Stops located along Hillsborough Street between Downtown Raleigh and Meredith College
• 2912 Wake Forest Road (Alcatel Location near the corner of Six Forks Road and Wake Forest Road)
• NC State Campus - Dan Allen Drive Parking Deck
• McKimmon Center - located at the intersection of Gorman Street and Western Boulevard
• Wachovia Operations Building located on Corporate Center Drive
• North Carolina Museum of Art located on Blue Ridge Road
NC State Students
Students with parking passes should follow their normal game day travel route. Students without parking passes should either take the shuttles from the Dan Allen Parking Deck or McKimmon Center or walk to the stadium from campus.
No Parking Zones
Towing in no parking areas will be strictly enforced. Specifically, areas of interest include Hillsborough Street, Youth Center Road, and Wade Avenue. Towing fees are estimated to exceed $175 if you park in any area deemed as a no parking zone
