Jones Named CollegeSwimming.Com Performer of the Week

NC State sophomore Cullen Jones has been announced as the CollegeSwimming.com Performer of the Week for the week of Jan. 10, based on his winning performances in the Wolfpack's meet versus Florida State last Friday, Jan. 9. The Irvington, N.J. native won two sprint freestyle races, and anchored the second-place finishing medley relay team.
Jones turned in a time of 20.42 in the 50 free, a mark that ranks in the Quick 50 this week. His time of 45.40 also ranks among the conference's top times. Jones, who anchored the Wolfpack's 400 medley relay squad, turned in a 100-yard split of 43.63.
Jones and the rest of the Wolfpack will be in action this weekend, with meets scheduled for Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The Pack's first quest will be against the nationally-ranked Virginia Cavaliers at noon on Jan. 17.
