Cotchery, Locklear and Rivers to play in Senior Bowl

NC State football players Jerricho Cotchery, Sean Locklear and Philip Rivers have all been picked to play for the South squad in the 2004 Senior Bowl, January 24 in Mobile, Ala. College football's premier pre-draft event kicks off at 5:00 p.m. (EST) from Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
The game will be a homecoming of sorts for Cotchery and Rivers, who both hail from the Yellowhammer State. Cotchery, a Birmingham native, is a two-time First team All-ACC wide receiver who broke school records for career receptions (200) and career 100-yard receiving games (15). Rivers, a native of Athens, Ala., was a unanimous pick for ACC Player of the Year and the NCAA record holder for career games started by a quarterback (51). He led the nation in passing efficiency (170.49) and completion percentage (.720) this season.

Locklear, an offensive lineman from Lumberton, N.C., was named First-team All-ACC this season. Playing nearly every offensive snap over the past two years and seeing time at almost every position on the offensive line, Locklear helped provide space and time for the Wolfpack offense to gain a league-leading 5,891 yards of total offense in 2003, a figure that ranked 13th nationally.
