NC State wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery (Birmingham, Ala.) led NC State to a 47-34 victory over North Carolina with a career high 217 receiving yards, the third-highest single-game receiving performance in school history. The 6-1, 200-pound senior caught nine passes, including an 80-yard touchdown catch. Cotchery leads the league with 552 total receiving yards this season (110.4 per game) and ranks fourth nationally in that category. He moved into third place in the school record books for career receiving yards, receptions, touchdown receptions and 100-yard receiving games.
"We may be watching one of the best wide receivers in America," NC State head coach Chuck Amato said on Monday. "He is something else. It's so neat to happen to him and Philip [Rivers] because somebody has got to throw it to him. He has worked for everything. He doesn't miss anything, he's never late for anything and he just outworks people. If there are three wide receivers in America that are better than him, they're something."
