Pack Readies For Busy Weekend on the Course

Page Marsh's golf squad will be in action this weekend in two tournaments. Five women will compete in the Mason Rudolph Classic in Nashville, Tenn. and a J.V. squad and two individuals will head to Sunset Beach, N.C. for the Sea Trail Intercollegiate. The Pack is ranked No. 14 by GolfWeek after one event with a 74.71 stroke average. The Mason Rudolph Classic will open play on Friday and span through Sunday with 18 holes scheduled per day.
The Pack's varsity squad will play in the Mason Rudolph Classic at the Legends Club, a par 72, 6,276-yard course. Other teams in play will include: No. 2 Auburn , No. 5 Arizona, No. 6 Furman, No. 15 UCLA, No. 13 Oregon State, No. 19 Vanderbilt, No. 24 Southern California, Tulane, Missouri, Florida, South Carolina, UNC-Wilmington, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Kentucky and Georgia.
Senior Briana Vega, who is ranked No. 11 in the nation with a 71.21 stroke average per round, will lead the squad when it opens play on Friday. Sophomore Lorraine Ballerano is currently ranked No. 61.
Molly Birmingham, Erica Wein and Ashlee Dean will also make the trip.
NC State's junior varsity squad is one of 21 in the Sea Trail Intercollegiate. The event will be played on the Jones-Byrd Course and is schedule for 18 holes on Saturday and Sunday. Competitors suiting up for NC State are: Colby Cobb, Courtney Pomeranz, Nancy Mountcastle, Margaux Hennessey and Sarah Davis. Sarah Bonner and Leslie Stubblefield will compete as unattached individuals in the event.
