Dean Leads Field at the Patsy Rendelmann/Lady Indian Invitational

SALISBURY, N.C. - Five Wolfpackers are in the top 10 at the Rendelman/Lady Indivian Invitational after the first round. Newcomer Ashlee Dean leads the field after firing an opening round of two-under par, 70, which ties the school record low score.
Dean shot an amazing score of 33 on the back nine. Her round of 70 ties a school record low round previously set in 2001. Sarah Bonner is two strokes back in second with an even round of par. Erica Wein and Colby Cobb are tied for third after firing rounds of 74. Freshman Nancy Mountcastle has a share of eighth with a round of 77.
The quintet is playing in the tournament at the Cresent Club individually and are not competing as a team. The second and final round will commence Monday morning.
A Wolfpack team will be represented in the Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C., and will play 36 holes on Monday. The Cougar Classic will be broadcast on Comcast in the Charleston viewing area, and a simulcast will be available on the official website of the College of Charleston Cougars. Live stats can be found online at Golfstat.com. Yeamans Hall Golf Club was recently ranked as the No. 92 Best Golf Course in the World by Golf Magazine. The course is a Par 72 that will play at 6,026 yards for the tournament.
