NC State football fans who can't get enough of the Wolfpack need only turn to The News & Observer during the 2003 season. Not only will The Triangle's hometown newspaper supply the most in-depth coverage of the Pack. In addition, The N&O will offer collectors an added incentive to pick up the award winning newspaper.
Beginning Saturday, August 30th , The N&O will produce a series of special NC State commemorative game-day posters. They will be available on newsstands throughout Wake County on the seven dates that NC State plays its home games.
" We're all aware that this is shaping up to be one of the greatest years in NC State Football history," said Felicia Gressette, Vice President of Marketing for the N&O. " These posters will be a must-have collectible for all loyal Wolfpackers who will follow the team from the opener against Western Carolina all the way to a major bowl game."
The first poster, which hits newsstands this coming Saturday, features NC State Head Coach Chuck Amato. Others will include the NC State mascots, Mr. and Mrs. Wuf, key moments of the 2002 season, plus previews of NC State's 2003 opponents.
The N&O's Track the Pack contest is another reason for fans to pick up the newspaper. Certain to catch everyone's attention is a trip to the NC State-Ohio State game. The Grand prize includes game tickets, airfare and accommodations.
" We all know that tickets to the Ohio State game are nearly impossible to get", added Gressette. " The N&O is pleased to be able to reward a Wolfpack fan with this trip of a lifetime."
Second prizes in the contest include tickets to the "Tailgatin' In the Outback" VIP hospitality event on October 11th, when NC State hosts UConn. Following a pre-game meal from Outback Steakhouse, the lucky winners will watch the Pack take on the Huskies at Carter-Finley Stadium.
