Torry Holt Agrees To Contract Extension With Rams

Former NC State wide receiver Torry Holt, who set numerous pass-catching records for the Wolfpack from 1995-98, has signed a new seven-year contract extension with the NFL's St. Louis Rams. Taken by the Rams in the first round of the 1999 NFL Draft, Holt is coming off of his third straight 1000-yard receiving season after catching 91 balls for 1,302 yards in 2002. The Gibsonville native currently ranks seventh in team history in both receptions (306) and yards (5,088) after only four seasons.
While at NC State, Holt rewrote the school record books, setting single game, single season and career records in almost every passing category. He also set an ACC record with 3,379 receiving yards for his career.
The two-time All-ACC performer was named the ACC Player of the Year and Offensive PLayer of the Year Following his senior campaign. Holt's #81 jersey at NC State was retired on Jan. 16, 1999 during halftime ceremonies of the final NC State--UNC basketball game played at Reynolds Coliseum.
Torry's brother Terrence, who was a safety with the Wolfpack, recently signed his first NFL contract with the Detroit Lions.
