Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Spring 2003 semester 210 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 107 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor women's track and field team member Desiree Mittman and men's swimming Justin Smith.
Suzanne Mitchell |
Suzanne Mitchell is a standout on the NC State Women's Swimming team. The Raleigh native specializes in the sprint freestyle event. The former Enloe High School product has managed to balance athletics and academics. Suzanne carries an impressive 3.378 Total Grade Point Average in Civil Engineering. She also was named to the ACC Honor Roll and was chosen as a NC State Scholar Athlete in 2001-2002.

Andy has compiled a 3.121 Total Grade Point Average and has also been named to the ACC Honor Roll while at State. Among his other academic accomplishments are being selected as a NC State Scholar Athlete four different semesters and making the Dean's List one semester.
Congratulations to both Suzanne and Andy and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
