Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Fall 2002 semester 210 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 107 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor women's swim team member Rachel Bumgardner and men's diving team member Steve House.
Rachel Bumgardner |
Rachel Bumgardner is a hometown girl who has made good while attending NC State. Though just a sophomore, Rachel has contributed to the NC State women's swim team since her freshman year. In the classroom, the Political Science Major has maintained a 3.393 Total Grade Point Average. Rachel was also a member of the ACC Honor Roll and NC State Scholar Athlete during the 2001-2002 year.
Steve House |
NC State diver Steve House is another hometown boy who chose to stay close to home and compete for NC State. The Sophomore Art and Design major has been a key contributor for the Pack off the board. On the academic side, Steve has compiled a 3.357 Total Grade Point Average. He was a member of the ACC Honor Roll and NC State Scholar Athlete during the 2001-2002 year, and also made the NC State Dean's Liist in the Fall of 2002.
Congratulations to both Rachel and Steve and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
