Swain and Walters Named Caterpillar Scholar Athletes

Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Fall 2002 semester 210 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 107 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor women's track team member Erin Swain and golf team member Justin Walters.
 
Erin Swain |
Erin Swain is a veteran on the NC State women's track team. The junior from Fairfax Station, Virginia excels in the one and two mile events. In the classroom, the Business Management major has compiled an impressive 3.570 Total Grade Point Average. Erin's also been on the ACC Honor Roll for two years, has been named a NC State Scholar Athlete five semesters and has made the NC State Dean's List four semesters.
Justin Walters |
Justin Walters came to NC State from Johannesburg, South Africa. The senior Business Management Major has put together low rounds on the golf course and high scores in the classroom since coming to Raleigh. Justin was a third-team PING All-American and all ACC selection during the 2001-2002 season. Meanwhile, he's managed to compile a 3.262 Total Grade Point Average. Justin was also named a 2002 GCAA Division 1 All-America Scholar and 2002 ACC Honor Roll Nominee.
Congratulations to both Erin and Justin and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
