Spring football practice is now long gone and a steamy summer awaits. But really, is it too early to start looking ahead to the upcoming college football season? Not for eager NC State fans, who can't wait for September to roll around. The web site for Sports Illustrated (SI.com) is seemingly just as impatient. Not only has the site listed its Spring College Football Poll, it's also taking an early look at this year's race for the Heisman Trophy. Perhaps not surprisingly, SI.com has jumped on the NC State bandwagon, ranking the Pack sixth in its poll. The site is also keen on Wolfpack quarterback Philip Rivers, which it lists as a top Heisman Hopeful.
