
Wolfpack in Third Heading Into Final Round at ACC Championship

CLEMMONS, N.C. - Duke continues to lead after the second round of the 15th Annual ACC Women's Golf Championship. The Blue Devils shot a second round 290 (600), six-over par, and leads Wake Forest (316-292=608) by eight strokes. NC State is in third with a 616 (315-301), and North Carolina is in fourth with 618 (320-298). Florida State is in fifth with a 623 (325-298), and Maryland is sixth with 633 (327-306).
After inclement weather on Friday, scores improved Saturday by an average of 21.3 strokes per team.
Wake Forest's Nuria Clau and North Carolina's Meaghan Francella both fired two-under par 69 Saturday, while Duke's Virada "Oui" Nirapathpongporn shot even par 71. The three are tied atop the leaderboard at 146, four-over par. Duke's Liz Janangelo is two shots behind at 148 after a second round 71 (even). Wake Forest's Ashley Hoagland is in fifth with an eight-over par 150.
The Wolfpack's Courtney Pomeranz dropped to seventh after leading the first round with a 74. She fired a second-round score card of 79 for a two-day total of 153. Sarah Bonner is tied for 11th after knocking four strokes off of her day-one score to finish with a total of 152 at 12-over par. Briana Vega is just a stroke back at 13-over, and is tied for 15th. The Pack's final scorer, Erica Wein, has sole possession of 23rd after shooting an 88 Saturday. Colby Cobb finished in 25th and is 19-over par heading into the final round.
The ACC Women's Golf Championship is being contested at Salem Glen Country Club in Clemmons, N.C. The course is 6,348 yards and par is 71. Final round play will begin Sunday at 8:30 am. NC State players will tee off from the first hole beginning at 9:20.
