Wolfpack Heads South For SunTrust Lady Gator

NC State will make its second tournament appearance of the spring season on Sunday in the first round of the SunTrust Lady Gator, hosted by the University of Florida in Gainesville. The Wolfpack is ranked 35th in the latest Golfstat and Golfweek polls, and looks to better its standing with a solid performance in one of the premier tournaments in the land.
The three-round tournament will be played at the University Golf Course (par-70, 6,101-yards), and will feature teams from the Central, Eastern and Southern Regions including: No. 10 Tennessee, No. 14 Tulane, No. 15 Ohio State, No. 22 Oklahoma, No. 23 Baylor, Central Florida, Florida State, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, Michigan State, Mississippi State and Ole Miss and South Florida.
Coach Page Marsh will take a team of five plus one individual on the trip. Colby Cobb will lead the Wolfpack after finishing a solid 12th at the Texas A&M "Mo"morial last week. Erica Wein, Courtney Pomeranz, Sarah Bonner and Briana Vega round out potential scorers. Lorraine Ballerano will play as an individual.
Fixed tee times will begin Sunday and Monday at 8 a.m. NC State's Vega will tee off in the first group along side players from Mississippi State and Florida State. A shot-gun start is scheduled for Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. Live scoring will be provided by Golfstat for the event.
