Browns Summit, N.C. - NC State concluded the second round of the Bryan National Collegiate on Saturday with hopes of bettering its two-round score of 620 (+44) and moving up from 13th place overall, but rain forced officials to cancel the third round of the event and the Wolfpack didn't get the chance. The rain shortened event co-hosted by Wake Forest and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro began on Friday. The tournament was contested at Bryan Park Champions Course in Browns Summit, N.C. The course measures 6,064 yards and par is 72.
Erica Wein was the Wolfpack's top finisher and took a share of 15th in the event. She fired consecutive season-low rounds of 74 on Friday and Saturday to finish with a 148.
Briana Vega performed better in the second round and took four strokes off of her round one score to finish with a 158 and a share of 58th. Colby Cobb finished one stroke back with a 159. Courtney Pomeranz finished with 160, and Sarah Bonner with a 161.
The Wolfpack will get two weeks of practice in before heading to West Lafayette, Ind. for the Lady Boilermaker hosted by Purdue at the Birk Boilermaker Course at Purdue, the same course that will host the NCAA Championships in late May.
