Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Fall 2002 semester 210 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 107 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor women's diving team member Erin Bailey and rifle team member Joe Upton.
Erin Bailey |
Senior Erin Bailey is one of the standouts on the NC State Women's Diving team. She's a perennial ACC Finalist and ACC Champion. In the classroom the native of Holly Springs, North Carolina has compiled a 3.081 Total Grade Point Average. The Criminal Justice Major has also been named a Caterpillar Scholar Athlete and member of the ACC's Honor Roll.
Joe Upton |
Joe Upton is one straight shooter. The senior from Marion, North Carolina is Team Captain of the NC State Rifle Team where he's excelled for the Pack during competition. He's also put up many bulleyes in the classroom on his way to a 3.606 Total Grade Point Average. Joe's also a six-time member of the Dean's List and seven-time Caterpillar Scholar Athlete.
Congratulations to both Erin and Joe and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
