NC State's Giamoni Named ACC Wrestler Of The Week

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State's Jake Giamoni was named ACC Wrestler of the Week after posting a perfect 3-0 mark in a span of three days, earning 15 team points for the Wolfpack. His three victories were recorded by pin, technical fall and major decision.
The week began for Giamoni last Thursday when the Wolfpack wrestled Campbell and UNC Greensboro. In his first bout, Giamoni won a technical fall over Campbell's Elliott Berger, winning 22-5 at the 5:00 mark. In his next bout, the junior from Easton, Pa., pinned UNC Greensboro's Tony Stewart at 1:58 of the first period.
Two days later, on Saturday February 1, Giamoni wrestled Old Dominion's Chad Sichak and took a 17-8 major decision to lead NC State to a 25-12 victory. On the season, Giamoni is 10-8 and has won three matches in a row.
The Wolfpack travels to Lehigh on Friday, February 7 for a non-conference bout at 7 p.m., and then heads to Annapolis, Md., for a 7 p.m. bout against Navy on Saturday, February 8.
