Freshman diving standout Molly Culberson was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference's All-ACC squad as announced Tuesday by the conference office in Greensboro, N.C. Culberson performed well at the championships, finishing with a bronze medal on the three-meter board, and fifth on the one-meter.
Culberson excelled on both boards throughout the season, and finished first on the three-meter in all but two dual-meets in the regular year. Her scored led the conference throughout the year, and finished the season at the top of the league's scoring list.
In September, she added her name to the NC State record books with a stunning score of 340.20 in the three-meter dive at East Carolina. That score, along with her mark of 284.63 on the one-meter board, stand as Minges Aquatic Center records. She was later awarded ACC Performer of the Week honors for her accomplishments.
Culberson, a 2002 graduate of Myers Park, is currently enrolled in the First-Year College. She is the daughter of Rick and Cathy Culberson of Charlotte, and her brother, Richard, was a swimmer for NC State from 1997-2001.
