Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Fall 2002 semester 210 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 107 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor rifle team members Laura Ferrell and Trey Ragsdale.
Laura Ferrell |
Laura Ferrell epitomizes the term student-athlete. The Junior from Pinehurst is not only a sharpshooter for the NC State Rifle Team, but also scores in the classroom. Laura has a 4.0 Total Grade Point Average. She also has made the Dean's List five times and has also been named a NC State Scholar Athlete five times.
Trey Ragsdale |
Frank "Trey" Ragsdale made the NC State Rifle team his freshman year and has been improving even since. He was voted most improved for both the 1999-2000 and 2001-2002 seasons. Trey's best work comes in the classroom where he boasts a 3.954 Total Grade Point Average. He's also made the Dean's List seven times and has been named a NC State Scholar Athlete seven times.
Congratulations to both Laura and Trey and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
