RALEIGH, N.C. - Fourth-year women's golf coach Page Marsh is excited to announce the signing of one student-athlete during the fall period for the 2004-05 season. The team will lose three seniors to attrition at the end of the year, and looks to get solid contributions from signee Jessie Vincent.
"Jessie is a tremendous athlete and is very dedicated to the game of golf," says Marsh. "She has tremendous potential and has a great future ahead of her. She has wonderful mechanics, along with a great feel for the game. She's a great competitor and will be an asset to our team."
Vincent holds the course record of 68 at the Alamance Country Club in Burlington, where she is a three-time and reining club champion. She also holds titles in the 2003 CCB Cup and was the 2003 NC High School Mid-East Regional Champion, and finished as the runner-up in the state. She has finished in the top 10 at three different AJGA events, as well as taking a second-place finish in the 2003 NC Independent Insurance Agent Junior Classic at Pineneedles, where she posted a low score of 69.
Vincent is the daughter of Doug and Susan Vincent, each of whom play golf leisurely. Susan was a collegiate basketball and softball player at Elon. Vincent will enroll in the First-Year College in the fall of 2004, upon completion of her studies at Walter Williams High School.
