RALEIGH, N.C. - The Wolfpack Club has given the NCSU Libraries a $100,000 unrestricted gift, strengthening its 10-year partnership with the libraries. This gift was presented to the libraries from money that the Wolfpack Club receives from corporate matching gifts.
The gift will be used to enhance the quality of the public spaces through the renovations being planned in the D.H. Hill Library. This gift will also be used as matching funds to help attract other donors interested in maintaining and enhancing public spaces. With adequate funding, the libraries will buy casework and furniture to create sanctuaries throughout its buildings for reading and study.
"The Wolfpack Club is proud to be able to help our NCSU Libraries," Wolfpack Club Executive Director Bobby Purcell said. "Our library staff is outstanding, and what it has been able to do with the limited resources available is remarkable. The libraries affect the entire university - students, faculty, staff, and alumni. We should all want to help make our libraries the best they can be. The Wolfpack Club is privileged to be involved with such a worthy and deserving part of our university.
"The Wolfpack Club has been one of the libraries' greatest friends and strongest allies," said Susan K. Nutter, vice provost and director of NCSU Libraries. "I thank the Wolfpack Club, especially [past president] Steve Warren and Bobby Purcell, for everything it has done for us in the past, and now, for this extraordinary gift of $100,000. This gift will provide a lasting legacy to enrich the lives of NC State students. It not only gives us the means to move ahead with critical library renovations, but also presents us with a challenge - to build the library's private support base by using the donation to match new gifts. I look forward to meeting that challenge."
