There's very little doubt that Jerricho Cotchery has been one of college football's top receivers over the last two years. Now he's starting to get some national recognition. Cotchery and nine others have been named as semifinalists for the Biletnikoff Award, given each year to the nation's top college pass-catcher. The Award is named for the great Fred Biletnikoff, who played college football at Florida State and starred in the NFL with the Raiders.
Cotchery currently ranks second in NC State history with 164 career catches, second with 2,600 yards and is tied for second with 17 career touchdown receptions. He has also made at least one catch in 35 consecutive games.
This season, the Birmingham, Alabama native has 50 receptions for 850 yards and six scores.
Joining Cotchery on the Biletnikoff list are: Pittsburgh's Larry Fitzgerald, Oklahoma State's Rashaun Woods, Southern California's Mike Williams, Reggie Williams of Washington, Texas' Roy Williams, Miami's Kellen Winslow, Oklahoma's Mark Clayton, LSU's Michael Clayton, and Florida State's Craphonso Thorpe.
