NC State's Vitor Assuncao was named the ACC's Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week on Monday, as released by the conference office in Greensboro, N.C. The native Brazilian, who now calls Orlando, Fla. home, turned in four victories and broke two school records on the one- and three-meter diving boards during the course of the week.
Against Notre Dame, on Oct. 23, Assuncao set two new school records with his 357.38 point first-place finish on the one-meter board and 363.45 point first-place finish on the three-meter board. In setting the new NC State one-meter record, he broke his own record set last week (344.55) and took down Todd Smith's three-meter record of 343.05 set in 1995.
Assuncao took four first-place finishes last week with wins versus Notre Dame and Georgia Tech.
Assuncao and the Wolfpack will be in action on Tuesday, Oct. 28 as hosts to the East Carolina Pirates in the Willis Casey Aquatics Center at 4:30 p.m.
