Southard and Riley Named Caterpillar Scholar Athletes

Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Fall 2001 semester, 228 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 109 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor Senior gymnastics team member, Stephanie Southard and Senior men's baseball player, Justin Riley.

Stephanie Southard, a senior from Indialantic, Florida is a member on the NC State's women's gymnastics team. Stephanie strives to achieve on the mat as well as in the classroom. Her major is Biological Engineering/Biomedical Engineering where she holds a Total Grade Point Average of 3.724. Stephanie has been a NCSU Scholar Athlete for 6 semesters and on the EAGL All-Academic Team for 3 years.

Justin Riley is also a senior from Crestview, Florida. Justin plays on the NC State baseball team. He is majoring in Business Management and strives to achieve academically with a Total Grade Point Average of 3.057. He has also been named as a NCSU Scholar Athlete.
Congratulations to both Stephanie and Justin and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
