Men's Soccer Blasts Montreat 7-2 in Exhibition

Raleigh, N.C. - In the final exhibition game of the preseason, the NC State men's soccer team downed Montreat College 7-2 Sunday afternoon at Method Road Soccer Stadium. The contest was played in three 25 minute periods, differing from the normal two 45 minutes halves.
Forward Aaron King was once again the offensive force, following up his two goal performance on Wednesday, with three goals this afternoon. Fellow freshman Federico Peria contributed with one goal and three assists, and sophomore Justin Branch added two goals.
Senior Mitchell Watson played all 75 minutes in goal for the Pack, and recorded four saves including a penalty kick with less than five minutes to play.
NC State will open up the 2002 season this weekend by hosting the Adidas Wolfpack Classic. The Wolfpack will take on Georgia Southern this Friday at 1:30 p.m., and then host Holy Cross on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
