Fisher Making An Impression

There are indications that Levar Fisher made quite an impression on the NFL's Arizona Cardinals during the spring mini-camps. The former NC State All-American, who was the Cards' second round selection in April's NFL Draft, could very well be in a position to compete for a starting spot during training camp.
On the Club's official website, Cardinals insider Mike Jurecki seems to think that Fisher could give veteran Ray Thompson a run for his money at one of the outside linebacker spots.
"Thompson's size (217 lbs.) has always been an issue when it comes to durability because he has a tendency to break down," Jurecki writes. "However, Thompson knows the system and has a knack for the ball. The question is, can he hold up? One of the reasons why the Cardinals drafted Fisher was for the future. They have also been impressed with his all around talent. Fisher (230 lbs.) is a little bit bigger than Thompson and he likes to mix it up, play physical, and swarms around the ball. The Cardinals coaches at some point are going to have to get Fisher on the field--he's a player."
With 492 stops during his college career, Fisher finished up as NC State's all-time leading tackler. He was also named ACC Defensive Player of the Year following his junior year.
Fisher and the Cardinals will begin preseason camp in Flagstaff, Arizona on July 26.
