The National Golf Coaches Association has announced its selections to the All-American Golf Scholar Team. Wolfpack golfers Sarah Bonner and Leslie Stubblefield were named to the list.
Bonner and Stubblefield are both rising sophomores majoring in engineering.
Bonner, a native of Kingsport, Tennesse, had the second lowest stroke average on the team in the 2001-02 season with a 77.0. She had her best finish of the season, a tie for seventh, at the Lady Seahawk Invitational.
Stubblefield, a native of Kennesaw, Georgia, was also a solid member of the Wolfpack lineup, playing in all outings in the spring. She shot a career low at the Lady Seahawk Invitational in the first round with a one-over par 73.
The criteria for selection to the All-Scholar Team are some of the most stringent of all college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 (3.4 for juniors and seniors) and student-athletes must have competed in at least 66% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
