RALEIGH, N.C. -- Brian Burks scattered five hits and Matt Murton drove in two runs to lead sixth-ranked Georgia Tech to a 3-0 victory over NC State and a sweep of both a Saturday doubleheader and a three-game weekend ACC series at Doak Field.

With the win, the Yellow Jackets improved to 22-4 overall and 3-2 in the ACC. The Wolfpack fell to 19-11 with the loss, 1-5 in the ACC.

Burks, who went the distance, improved to 6-2 with the win. He struck out five and did not issue a walk. NC State's Daniel Caldwell fell to 6-3 with the loss despite pitching well. He also went the distance, allowing three runs on nine hits. He walked three and struck out six.

Caldwell and Burks matched zeroes and hits for the first five innings, each allowing four hits. Georgia Tech stranded runners on first and third in the top of the third, and first and second in the top of the fifth. The Wolfpack had runners on second and third with two out in the bottom of the second and could not score, and put runners on second and third with one away in the bottom of the fourth only to come away emptyhanded.

Georgia Tech finally took the lead with a pair of runs in the top of the sixth. Jeremy Slayden led off and was hit by a pitch, and Tyler Parker followed with a single to left. Jason Perry grounded out to second to move the runners to second and third, and Murton lined a two-run single to left.

The Yellow Jackets added a big insurance run in the top of the ninth. Matthew Boggs beat out an infield hit to first base, and Eric Patterson sacrificed him to second. Victor Menocal drove in the run with a single to left field.
