I'd like to thank the men's basketball team for an outstanding year. They seem to be fine people, as well as terrific players. My only disappointment this year is that the team didn't win just one more NCAA game, and only because the team deserved to have a week to enjoy being in the tournament. Coach Sendek, I never doubted your ability but admit I never expected you to be able to install and thrive with an entirely new offense so quickly. It was a joy to watch, I look forward to next season.
John
Thanks to all the players & coaches for your couragous efforts and a wonderful season. While I am particularly excited for the future of Wolfpack basketball, I don't think we can give enough credit to Anthony Grundy and Archie Miller for all they have done for our program. I believe Grundy is the most valuable player to wear Red & White in over 15 years, and Miller is the best leader we've seen since Corchiani. I would like to wish Anthony the best of luck on his NBA future and I hope we're able to pick Archie up for an assistant coach at NC State. Who better to keep these young players on track in their development on and off the court than the guy who has been doing it since the day they entered college. Nobody knows them better & they obviously know how to listen to him. I'm sure with the perseverance & determination these guys have already displayed, they will both be very successful in their careers. Thanks again Anthony & Archie... you started something great.

Just read the story on fans feedback on the basketball season. Please pass on my thanks to the team and coaching staff for a great season. Like everybody else, I just wish it could've been extended a little longer. I'm looking forward to next season and another sweep of the Heels. When do season tickets go on sale ?
Now we can turn our attention to football. April 13 is marked on my calendar.
GO PACK !!!

Just wanted to chime in after the awesome NCAA Tournament game the Wolfpack just played in. I am so proud of Coach Sendek and the players. What a special year for a very fine coach and a wonderful group of players. I am also very proud of Mr. Fowler and how he represented our University and backed Sendek through thick and thin. I know there was a tremendous amount of pressure on both men and all of the players. Yes, we lost the game against a great UConn team, but we won so many intangibles.....they will be counted for years to come. Thanks for a great year Pack! Thanks to Archie Miller and Anthony Grundy, two Seniors that I'll never forget. God bless you and best wishes in whatever you guys go on to do.
Thanks again, Greg
My congratulations to the coach and every member of this basketball team. It was a pleasure following them this season.

I would like the whole team to know that I am very proud of their efforts this season. It was an extremely special one, and one that glowed with reasons why I am a Pack fan. I always believed Herb would get it done. From day one he was and is one of the classiest coaches in college basketball and he proved once and for all that he is one of the best. He embodies wolfpack basketball and what we as fans can rally around. As for Archie and Ant, what a year!!! They fought every step of the way and put Wolfpack basketball on the pillar where we should be, with our longstanding tradition as one of the greatest programs in NCAA basketball. I'd like to thank the team for their hard work and belief that we can be the best. Julius, Josh, Ilian, Jordan, and Levi, I want to thank you for not cutting corners, having faith and believing. For all of the players, I wish them continued luck, and success in moving toward more seasons like this one and beyond. Now it's time for Cliff and Scooter to get the opportunity that they deserve to lead us in the future. Two of North Carolina's finest. The Pack is back and I'm gleeming with "Pack Pride"

I would also like to congratulate Coach Sendek and the Wolfpack for a great season. It has been a wonderful and exciting year being a wolfpack basketball fan. Not just for having a team winning basketball games, but the way they won the games and how the players conducted themselves as sportsmen and showing lots of heart and determination. I would also like to thank Archie Miller and Anthony Grundy for two outstanding and memorable careers.

I want to express my appreciation to all the basketball players for their conduct on and off the court. I especially want to commend Julius Hodge for his post game comments after the Michigan State game. When he truly rose to the occasion and was one of the primary reasons we won the game, I was so proud to hear his comments of team and compliments to his fellow players. In an environment where the press can seize any opportunity to put a spin on a comment, you make us proud.... So very proud!
Thanks for the ride!

I don't know if this message will ever get read, but I feel like it has to be said anyway. I can't even begin to state how proud I am of this year's basketball team. They were warriors and deserve to be commended. As a die hard Wolfpack fan attending the University of Kansas (having to listen to their fans claiming they also have a program) I am filled with pride in what this years team showed me. They played together and they played hard. Through my TV set thousands of miles away it was evident how each and every player had a burning desire to win. This desire undoubtedly came from a spectacular coach. Although the questionable call in the loss left a bitter taste in my mouth, I won't let it damper what a great season we just experienced. We will deeply miss the passion and leadership of Grundy and Miller, they are two of the greatest. But the future looks bright for the young guys. The Pack looks to be on the brink of doing great things, but I don't know if any team will ever touch me the way the 2001-2002 Wolfpack team did. Thanks guys, you are the greatest.
Jeff
Coach Sendek & the 2001-2002 Team - GREAT JOB!!!! I am proud of this group and what they accomplished. I have been a Wolfpack fan for almost thirty years and to me this group has given me as many great memories as the more famous teams in the past. Coach Sendek you have shown us that you will not GIVE UP!! We cannot hope for anything more. GO PACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bob
I am very proud to be called a Wolfpack fan. Even in our down years I knew we would one day get back what we lost. Herb is a great coach and I want to thank him for a job well done this year. Grundy, Miller, Hodge, Powell and all the rest, thank you for your enthusiasm and determination. We showed different teams that you couldn't keep pushing us around. You fought hard Sunday for the win and I think you were cheated, but what's done is done. You were a thrill to watch. May God Bless each one of you and watch over you and keep you safe. PROUD TO BE A WOLFPACK!!!! WE'LL BE BACK IN 2002- 2003, SO WATCH OUT FOR THE PACK!!!
Cindy
Coach Sendek,
Please convey to your players and staff the enormous pride my family has for your accomplishments this year. We are proud of the way you performed and represented NC State. Although the game was lost, the team should keep its heads high because they have accomplished so much and they have the hearts of champions. Thank you Anthony Grundy and Archie Miller for your leadership.
The future is bright due to the hard work of the 2001-2002 Wolfpack Basketball Team.
Sincerely, Forrest Yount LT USN
Thanks, Pack, for a superb season of excitement and entertainment in basketball at its BEST!!! Julius, don't dwell on the bad call and the no call by the officials, and especially don't beat yourself up about it. Without your outstanding play against Michigan St., we might not have made it to round 2. Looking forward to next season, Thanks team and coaches....The PACK is DEFINITELY BACK!! Also Lots of luck to Anthony and Archie!!
Gerald
You have given us something to be proud of. As a Wolfpack fan that lived through years of not seeing us make it to the "Dance", I truly cherished this season. Thank you for bringing the excitement back to Wolfpack Basketball. To the seniors, I wish you nothing but the best in life at whatever path you take. I really believe you have laid the foundation for bringing us back to national prominence. To Herb, keep coaching with the type motivational skills you used this year on this group of young players and it will take the team to the next level. Excellent work by all of you. I am one VERY proud WOLFPACK FAN! GO STATE!
