Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Spring 2002 semester 192 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 99 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor Sophomore Women's Basketball player, Rachel Stockdale and Sophomore football player, Patrick Thomas.

Patrick Thomas has made the transition from high school to college look easy. The sophomore from Miami has been a key contributor for the Wolfpack football team since he stepped foot on campus. In the classroom Patrick has compiled a 3.14 Total Grade Point Average. Patrick was named a Caterpillar Scholar Athlete during the 2001-2002 year and also made the ACC Honor Roll.
Congratulations to both Rachel and Patrick and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
